University fields — most hired in Tanzania
These are not TIE subjects. They are degree and diploma clusters that TCU-accredited universities teach and that employers in Tanzania actually hire. Open a campus on the Schools tab to confirm the exact programme name.
- Medicine, nursing and pharmacy Clinical care is chronically under-staffed. MUHAS and other health universities feed hospitals, NHIF providers and NGOs.
- Engineering (civil, electrical, mining, petroleum) Public works, energy, SGR, ports and mines hire engineers faster than the system produces them.
- Computer science, IT and data Banks, MNOs, government digital services and startups need developers, networks and cybersecurity.
- Accounting, finance, procurement and economics Every formal employer needs books, tax, audit and supply-chain control.
- Education (science, mathematics, English) TAMISEMI and private schools keep recruiting teachers — especially STEM and English.
- Agriculture, agribusiness and food science Most Tanzanians work in agriculture; value-add, extension and processing pay better than subsistence farming.
- Law, public administration and governance Courts, local government, compliance and land/minerals administration stay in demand.
- Tourism, hospitality and languages Northern circuit, Zanzibar and MICE travel need operations, guides and hotel management.
- Logistics, maritime and transport Dar es Salaam port, SGR and regional trade need planners, freight and customs skills.
- Geology, environment and climate Mining, water, land-use and climate programmes hire applied science graduates.
